Best Art

So I ended up helping paint a lot of the Mutant for the OMG!GMO! group for the Kinetic Sculpture Derby at the Trenton Ave Arts Fest last week.

And its a good thing too, because we won BEST ART!
See how thrilled John and Rebekah are!
It looks so great!
With the one and only Mat Shiley powering his machine.

John, the scariest carrot-shark I've ever seen.
Teenage Mutant Ninja... SuperWeed?
Mat, so pensive with his bikes!

Well, it was a lovely lovely day, despite the sunburn that I obtained... but luckily I made a purchase of some coconut oil recently: it works wonders! The sunburn is almost gone, with no peeling to date!

Baltimore

Last weekend I went to visit Baltimore for Mike Hanes' Birthday! Also, for the commencement show. And of course, because I haven't been in a while, and do miss it from time to time.

I had a really lovely time, spent time with a lot of dear friends, and ran into a bunch of acquaintances and that was real swell too. Of course I neglected to take photos of things like that until the end, but I managed to get a nice shot of Beth and Carson, which she'll kill me for posting here:

Saw a lot of awesome work at the commencement show, here is some of it:

(this being relevant because I had wanted to go to the Rooms Play, but it was a few weeks before I went to Baltimore. Also relevant because the folks in this photo are Zac, Leslie, and John!)

I actually did a lot of things around the city that I had never done as a busy busy Mica student. Enlightening, to say the least.

Also, I brought the gloves that Dave of Party in My Pocket made for me. Francis just loved them, as did a lot of other folks!

And that was my trip! Today is the Kinetic Sculpture Derby at the Trenton Ave Arts Fest, marking my two year anniversary living in this apartment, remember the day I moved in?

I think its time to move though. I'll probably stay in Fishtown, ...but maybe Brooklyn, or New Orleans! Stay tuned!

Catching Up, Reaching Back

Springtime at the Mutter Museum Medicinal Herb Garden (where I take my lunch any day its warm and dry enough!)

April Showers were good for something at least...

Eli
Morning walk to work.

The Trenton Ave Abomination
Roof Garden: chard, kale, lettuce, arugula

Pretty red flowers, since then have been eaten by the Dreaded Black Aphid!

Helped Erika plant some things; this lovely young man is Mr. Fox!

The Garden behind Erika&Jeremy's garden.
Lilacs!
Mr Fox; Monty!

Okay, enough photos of other people's animals.

Then Jeremy built me some steps for my roof garden smart pots!

Tartes that I made to thank my French Professor!

Amelia came to visit to see DIME by NoFace (which was of course excellent!) We did lots of things the following day, including the Rocket Cat with the lovely John Sinclair.

Of course I've probably done a great deal more in the last two months than what is represented here in words and pictures, but this will have to do for now. Heading to D.C. in a minute and Baltimore later tonight.

I hereby resolve to make a better attempt at upkeeping the NanaBlog!
