Snowpocalypse!!!!!

Can you spot where I've been storing my old dresser? Erika will be taking it off my hands, as soon as our schedules correspond with a lack of snow.
The snow is still going strong. And apparently there will be more next Monday and Wednesday?! I thought the term "snowpocalypse" was just a silly facebook joke, but when NPR used the word, I believed it. I guess its just that we're not used to all this snow. Apparently Maryland has declared itself a State Emergency, and will ticket any vehicle on the road other than state vehicles. Crazy! Stay at home, build a snowman! (I might play in the snow with Ian and Adam later/tomorrow.)
I haven't really done a lot this past week. I've been watching a lot of good tv, and even used the darkroom on Monday. They're going to have me work one day, and volunteer another= 4 full days of paid work every week!
I also finally painted this bench! Its a light orange-pink color, even though it looks white here.

The Big Snow 2

I would be at work today except that there is this horrific snow storm, and the Mutter is closed today. Eastern State is also closed because of the snow, so we KNOW its bad. Even Circle Thrift across the street is closed. But Basho is still having its opening for the Onward 2010 exhibition! 2-5, if you can brave the snow, which I can't.

Its bad out there!

But at least the plants are doing well!

Last week Megan sent me a beautiful drawing to put on my fridge:

But I tacked the bottom right with a magnet, which Hans just NEEDED to have.

I moved it up a little further, but, the magnet is now in some other galaxy.

Its even cold enough in the apartment today that I am wearing slippers and a sweater. I am also baking right now, a banana bread from a mix from trader joes:

So that's warming up the apartment a bit too. Honestly though, its nice to have a day that feels like winter. You know, along with 3 feet of snow outside.

Onward 2010 Gallery Opening

I went to the darkroom early yesterday to get some printing done, but I had totally forgotten that they were installing the Onward 2010 show! So, I helped them out, and then took some photos of the space:

I drove our new monitor to his building to grab some spare nails, and it turns out his roommate is the same acquaintance from MICA that I had run into at Circle Thrift across the street, two months ago! I saw her again randomly, in her own apartment!

And the photograph on the far right is one of two pieces that made it into the show, of Rafael Soldi, a fellow Mican. Congrats Rafael!

We cleaned up after putting everything up, and the space looks great! The opening is this Saturday from 2-5, but stop by anytime to see it! (Call ahead to make sure someone will be there: 215-238-0928)

Also, its Celia's birthday, and tonight will be bagels and lox in her honor!
